Have you seen this? It's the iPod iMainGo portable speaker system. I'll admit, I just saw it on the Tonight Show, but man it looks sweet!

Sexy and ergonomic hardware - Moneual Lab I*magine and Thermaltake Armor chassis

Check out these sexy pieces of hardware that are ergonomic as well. The red piece of metal showing Vista Media Center area is from Moneual. The great thing is that there is a small 7" touch screen and flash media ports on the front and not the side.

Thermaltake's Armor chassis has the same great thinking in that the power switch and input ports (USB, audio, etc) is on top of the box. Why did it take manufacturers so long to realize that most of us have our rigs under our desk. Very sexy indeed.

Rest in Peace Arthur C. Clarke

Sad news today...we've lost one of the greats of Science Fiction and humanity. Arthur C. Clarke passed away today at age 90.

Sir Arthur C. Clarke wrote the book that first defined space elevators. His thirst for knowledge and love of humanity was evidenced in his many writings.

FujiFilm knocks it out of the park with the Klasse W film camera

I'm a bit late in this as the press release came out on November 12, 2008, Japan time. This film camera is sleek, sexy, and packed with features.

The original "Klasse" starts at 28mm, but the Black version starts at 38mm. Regardless, just looking at this piece of machinery makes me want to use it! How about you?

Sony's "Smile Shutter" camera - W300 13.6 megapixel

Oh yeah, don't you just hate missing that great shot? Especially when you want your grandchild,child,nephew,niece to smile?!

Sony has announced their latest megapixel wonder the W300 that includes "smile shutter." Watching it work on Japanese TV, it finds a face and waits for a smile and then clicks the shutter.

Thing is, on TV, it showed that it only worked on a child's face. The experiments proved as much. In fact, an interview with the marketing guy from Sony stated the same. Basically, the algorithm can determine a child by the facial features being closer together and a more round face as compared to an adult. I'm guessing this got Lost in Translation

In any case, it's cool technology.

The Net is abuzz with news that Asus will be releasing another Asus Eee but this time with 9" of luscious viewing pleasure.

Exciting times indeed!

Asus Whee! ...I mean, Asus EEE!!

We already have the tiny Linux-based Asus Eee on sale here now. The Register is reporting that Japan also has a Windows XP-based Asus Eee!!

And looking here, you can see that it is INDEED available NOW in Japan! The lil guy has Windows XP SP2 installed. Oh man, can you say, "JEALOUS?!!" At under USD 500 (roughly), this is definitely a steal!
