Have you seen Singapore's SingTel and their new service? It lets you view what's going on at home via your cell phone!

The monthly cost looks minimal, but the "initial cost" is a bit over the top. I suppose, it might be worth it though, since you can probably jump home if you see something funky going on with the small land area of the island city-state.
