Sony says, "F!"

Well, it's a new line of Sony laptops - FW series. You can see a Japanese article and video (bottom-page) here. Note, the video requires Silverlight to be installed.

If you watch the vid, the first speaker is an actress(?) and the second a pianist. The music the pianist plays is a song she created especially for Sony titled, "~f~" The song is supposed to evoke "feeling," which is what the "Sony F" stands for.

One of the cool highlights of this laptop is that you can record TWO programs at the same time! Crazy. As if we have enough time to watch all our content now.

Coming to the U.S.? No idea for now...

Lust rating: meh, no time to watch all my Tivo, Netflix, and other content.

On the Star Wars tip...

Check out the Stormtrooper Rickrolling video here.

In other news, a company called Cube-Works in Japan has now released (Japan only for now) two USB hubs - R2-D2 and Darth Vadar. Yes! with movement and sound effects. You can check out details here and videos here and here.

Don't worry, the vids do not require Japanese fluency. :)

Lust rating: Want it!

Happy Fourth! On the other side of the globe, Tokyo is on HIGH Alert!

Hope you had a great Fourth of July, and you still have all your digits. You're going to need them for the sales happening now, and the even better sales expected for this year's Black Friday.

If you happen to be traveling to Tokyo soon, be aware that, due to the G8 meeting, the capital city and entire country are in a state of high alert. Add to this the recent stabbing in Akiba, and you have a harried police force out there. Be careful!

It's Summer! Time for Beach Volleyball!

But what to do if you don't have the basic mechanics down to play? Well, why not buy a "How To" video like this? (go to bottom of page in link).

Yep, it seems Japan has it's own "How To" video for wanna-be beach volleyball pouncers. I suppose being good at Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball doesn't count? :)
